Just a few images to highlight the event.
This past weekend Reach for a Dream, SAPS and Hi-risk combined forces to create a fun filled day for the children for Mandela Day 2016.
The Reach for a Dream Team asked me again to photograph the event for them and of course I agreed.
It was a lovely winters day full of smiling children’s faces.
I have tried to limit the amount of photos on the blog, but with a day full of so much entertainment it was impossible to narrow the moments down to just a few. So bare with me. All the images can be viewed under the client proofs.
Slippy and the clown from the SAPS entertained the children. Please remember to support Slipper Day by purchasing a ticket from Wimpy. You can get more info on the Slipper Day website.
The Strong man and his dumbbell “Tiny” was a crowd favourite.
Adam Tas was there to entertain young and old and to just get everybody in the right mood for the show to follow. He was accompanied on electrical guitar by Wouter from the SAPS.
Lee Blinks from Lee Blinks Fitness took on USA Kickboxer and current 2 time world Z9 kickboxing champion George “Boss” Hastings.
How cute are the 4 month old puppies from the K9 unit.
For the main event SAPS Brooklyn and Garsfontein as well as Hi-Risk presented an awesome show. It was a simulated Rhino Poaching complete with bad guys, helicopters, K9 unit and more.
My heart almost stopped when I saw the helicopter making its appearance behind the trees with a dog and a man hanging out the door. The next moment they proceeded to ab-sail down to the ground where they apprehended a “poacher”.
And of course the good guys won and the poachers were apprehended in the end.
Solly Msimanga, the DA candidate for Mayor of Tshwane pretended to spar with USA Kickboxer and current 2 time world Z9 kickboxing champion George “Boss” Hastings.
