Thabiso recently graduated and is now a qualified medical surgeon. She obtained this qualification whilst being a mother to two busy young boys and a wife to a medical doctor, as well.

I assist The Reach for A Dream Foundation on a part time basis and it has enriched my life so much. During the past week I was fortunate enough to assist with Stefan’s Dream. Stefan is a MS patient from Bloemfontein. His dream was to meet Bobby van Jaarsveld and play guitar with him. Reach for a Dream made Stefan’s Dream a reality.

It was time again for MMI’S annual year end function. This year they went all out and hosted a colourful and eventful function that was enjoyed by all in attendance.
The staff was encouraged to dress up to suit the “carnival theme”. I loved the happy vibes of this functions so much.

Andy & Eileen have been married for about six months already. They tied the knot in the USA earlier this year and had a reception now to celebrate their wedding vows and marriage with friends and family in Pretoria at Blos in Olympus.

Agt jaar terug het twee skaam dogtertjies mekaar raak gespeel op die speelgrond. Hulle het vinnig goeie maats geword en ‘n vriendskapsband het ontstaan wat jaarliks net sterker gegroei het.
Nou hier in hul 13de lewensjaar het ons dit goed gedink om hul verjaarsdag partytjies saam te hou. Ons as mammas is nadese baie goeie vriendinne en die tweetjies verjaar letterlik dae uitmekaar uit.
Dannii en Mia het dadelik besluit op die tema “50’s themed birthday bash” en ons was gelukkig genoeg om ‘n lokaal op te spoor wat by ons tema ingepas het. Na weke se beplanning het die groot dag aangebreek…..

‘n Groot dankie gaan aan Chocolate et Cafe op Graham Road in Pretoria Oos vir die gebruik van hulle pragtige venue, hulle fantastiese werknemers en heerlike kos.
Little Thabang is a 3 year old boy with Rhabdomyosarcoma. He is currently undergoing treatment and is very ill. We wish him and his mom well on this long and hard journey.
To make their journey a little easier, the Reach for a Dream Foundation, together with their wonderful sponsors took him and his mother Nonhlanhla on a shopping spree. We managed to buy him lots of clothes for winter, some bedding for his bedroom at home and toys of course.
He was also treated to a lunch at Spur. All just to try and make everyday life a little better for them.

The Reach for a Dream Foundation have been assisting children with life-threatening illnesses in making their dreams come true. This was the case for little Dineo who wants to be a police women when she grows up. The SAPS – Brooklyn Station, assisted RFAD in making this dream a reality. They gave Dineo the opportunity to be a police women for a day by creating a mock hi-jacking scenario at Brooklyn Primary School with the help of the K9 unit.

First our little police officer did a drill inspection and found an officer that did not comply…..
We were then alerted that there was a hi-jacking taking place at Brooklyn Primary. Dineo got to drive in a high speed chase to the scene of the crime.
As always Captain Colette Weilbach assisted.
As well as Brigadier Kushie Nair, Station Commander for the Brooklyn police station.
The learners at Brooklyn Primary were ready to watch the mock hi-jacking scenario with Dineo and learn more about how to proceed in a real life situation.
Dineo was allowed to fire a rifle with blank ammunition.
And to meet our K9 hero.
Reach for a Dream also gave her a police lego set that she was over the moon about.

I recently met little Sabina and her family through Reach for a Dream. She is a brave little fighter. It broke my heart to see how happy she was to receive her Cadii School Bag. So many kids take these things for granted. But this was Sabina’s dream. She wanted a Cadii for school and Reach for a Dream, with the help of their sponsors, made this dream come true.
I am truly blessed to be part of this team. Encouraging children to use their dreams to fight life-threatening illnesses.
